Being In The European Union

The European Union was first formed in 1957 by 6 countries ( West Germany , France , belgium , the Netherlands , Luxembourg and Italy ). In 1973 , Britain , Denmark and the Republic of ireland joined. After few years , many countries started to join the E.U and there now 25 member states. There are many adavntages and disadvantages of being in the E.U.
fristly , the advantages , having the euro as a common currency for a large part of Europe , is much easier of Euro people to spend them in any other Euro country. Secondly , European citizens have the freedom to live, work, study, and travel in any other EU country. The disadvantages is that Britain would become gain a sovereign nation with more power over its domestic affairs. EFTA would also allow the UK to negotiate free trade agreements with countries outside of the EU.

  1. Excellent. You have understood the main advantages and disadvantages. Do you think that globally countries are grouping together more as in the EU or separating into smaller units or both? I wonder why.
